Men’s T20I Player Rankings: Babar drops to No. 1 Batter

After his outstanding achievements in the Asia Cup, a new batter has reached the top of the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s Player Rankings for T20 Internationals.

Mohammad Rizwan has replaced Babar Azam as the No. 1 T20I hitter in the world, moving up the rankings. In the Asia Cup, Rizwan has been in outstanding form, topping the run charts with 192 runs in 3 games.

In their back-to-back victories over India and Hong Kong, Rizwan was Pakistan’s mainstay at the plate, scoring 78* and 71 respectively. Due to his performances, he has moved up one rank in the standings, passing Babar, who has had a difficult competition thus far.

After Babar and Misbah-ul-Haq, Rizwan is the third Pakistani batsman to hold the top spot in the T20I rankings. Throughout his career, Babar has spent 1155 days at the top of the T20I batting charts (as of 7 September). Mohammad Rizwan tweeted in response to being ranked as the top T20I batter, “Count this as the 1156th day of Captain Babar Azam’s reign. He and I are not different. The King stays the King. We are all one.”

He also thanked the fans for all the support and good wishes.

Other significant changes in the batting order include Pathum Nissanka moving up one slot to No. 8 following his outstanding performance in the Asia Cup. In his last three games, Nissanka has scored 20, 35, and 52 points, with his most recent effort helping Sri Lanka defeat India in a Super Four match.

One of the biggest movers is Afghanistan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who rose fourteen spots to No. 15 thanks to his 84 against Sri Lanka in the Super Four match. Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, climbs four spots to No. 13 following his 72 against Sri Lanka.

Following their outstanding performances, the spinners from Sri Lanka and Afghanistan have risen the highest in the bowling rankings. With Akeal Hosein, Mujeeb Ur Rahman is now tied for sixth place after moving up three spots thanks to his 2/30.

Maheesh Theekshana has been extremely well-rewarded for being at his most frugal throughout the Asia Cup, posting statistics of 1/23, 1/29, and 1/29 in the last three games. He climbs five positions to No. 8 and into the top ten. Shadab Khan also goes up one spot to No.14 following 4/8 and 2/31 against Hong Kong and India respectively.

David Warner has gained one spot, moving up to No.6 in the batting rankings, mostly on the back of his 94 against Zimbabwe in the third ODI.

In the bowling rankings, Mitchell Starc jumps three spots to No.12 after picking up five wickets in his last three ODIs.

Glenn Maxwell climbs one spot to No. 9 in the all-rounders’ rankings after recording 4/52 in Australia’s thrilling first ODI victory over New Zealand.

Peru meets Australia as favorites to seal Football World Cup spot

When Peru meets the Australia Football World cup in Doha on Monday for a home at the 2022 World Cup finals, the South Americans will perhaps be the favorites which, from the viewpoint of just a few years ago, barely seems credible. Let’s roll back to 2006. Australia fit for the World Cup for the first time in 32 years and there was euphoria for the current and the future.

The team did well in Germany, creating it out of Group F over Japan and Croatia, and only falling to eventual champions Italy afterward with a soft stoppage-time penalty in the round of 16. The A-League was up and running. A a cohort of kids in a sports-mad country would surely be enthused and the move from FIFA’s confederation of Oceania to Asia would mean more modest games and a raising of values.

But 2006 was a high point. Australia has made it to every following Football World Cup, but the consequences have gotten worse. Their last conquest came in 2010. The previous game, four years ago, was a 2-0 defeat to Peru. And the indication would seem to suggest that Australia has gone retrograde since then. Spinal in 2006, Peru came nowhere near creating it to the World Cup. They are over ninth out of 10 teams in South America’s World Cup finalists. In 2010 they did inferior: 10th out of 10. And in 2014 only slightly healthier seventh out of nine.

But here they are, 90 minutes away from a second successive Qatar World Cup appearance. Has there been an emphatic renaissance in the quality of Peruvian football? Emphatically not. in 2002, for the ninth consecutive movement, no team from Peru made. It through to the knockout stages of the Copa Libertadores. This year was especially dire. Counting the qualifying rounds, the country’s four representatives played 16 games. There was not a single victory; all but three matches ended in the overthrow.

Peru may now have the weakest national league in the continent. And there is not a single genuinely high-profile Peruvian player in top-class European football. Yet Peru over ahead of Colombia (a side that has Luis Diaz, Rafael Santos Borre, Radamel Falcao, and many others). There is a clear conclusion coach make a change. For the last few years, Peru has been taught by Ricardo Gareca, a lanky Argentine who, as a center-forward in his playing times. To Know more about France Vs Australia Tickets click here.

But here they are, 90 minutes away from a second successive Qatar World Cup appearance.

Did his bit to rest Peru from going to the 1986 World Cup. He inherited a side that, in the preceding two qualifying movements had lost 16 of its 17 away games, and drawn the other. The players he has at his disposal are not significantly better. But as a team, as a shared unit, the improvement is off the scale. After winning the Qatar Football World Cup four years ago. Some of France’s players observed that their 1-0 win over Peru was one of the toughest sports of the campaign.

Now France and Denmark, Peru’s other 2018 adversary in Group C

Australia Football World Cup: Await the winner of Monday’s clash to complete Group D alongside Tunisia. Gareca will place his faith in the group of his team; a group that has brought belief, which leads to sureness. Previous Peru’s sides would collapse as soon as they conceded the first goal. But this one is made of stouter stuff. They trust each other in possession; they can hold the ball and change rhythm with diagonal switches; changes that start on the right surface on the left, and vice versa.

The role of the coach in this is easy to prove. In both the 2018 and 2022 campaigns, Peru benefited enormously from time spent on the training ground of a product. That is usually in such short supply for national team coaches. Peru made a bad start on the road to Russia but regrouped in the month they spent together for the 2016 Copa Centenario. They made a calamitous start on the road to Qatar they were the lowest on the table a year ago.

But then came Copa America in Brazil and an additional chance to reboot. With just a single opinion to show from the first five rounds, they won seven of their last 13. Peru, then, is the in-form side. They are not great goal scorers handling just 19 in their 18 qualifying games. but they can come up with blazes. That will worry Australia Football World Cup. The principal threat is 32-year-old center-forward Gianluca Lapadula. Italian-born and founded (for Serie B club Benevento), he played for the land of his birth,

Former Premier League winger Andre Carrillo

But only in friendlies, creation him free to turn out for the land of his mother’s natal. A choice he made once it became strong that he did not have a future with Italy. Lapadula had never been to Peru beforehand his first call-up, but he was quickly putative. Because he brings so much to the attack: more cunning and modest spirit than pure talent, while he works away hazardously on the shoulder of the last defender. Former Premier League winger Andre Carrillo.

Now apparently recovered from injury, will run powerfully at the defense down the right; on the other flank, Christian Cueva could be the key man. Sometimes frustrating but eternally interesting, Cueva will seek to cut in from the left the side where the Australian defense looked especially vulnerable in Tuesday’s 2-1 win over the United Arab Emirates. Monday’s game will perhaps be just as tight. Peru has noted that while Australia might not be great, they are certainly fit.

That game on Tuesday was well balanced, with the UAE blending the first hour, but in the last 20 minutes. Australia looked full of running while their opponents wilted. Australia has had extra adaptation time. With Peru opting to prepare in Spain, where they beat New Zealand 1-0 in a warm-up on Sunday. But if the Arab Emirates pushed Australia hard. Peru will be supposed to do it harder still and turn their preference into a win that will take them to a second successive Football World Cup.

Phil Salt, who has played four T20Is and eight one-day internationals scoring his maiden century against the Netherlands in June has been called in both squads. And could take Roy’s place alongside white-ball skipper Jos Buttler at the top of the order, or there could be raised the order for Jonny Bairstow.

There was no international memory for Alex Hales, who hasn’t played for England since deteriorating during a recreational medications test in 2019.

I associate him with Symonds: Ponting backs beginner to fire Aussies to World Cup final

England Vs Australia: Ricky Ponting trusts India is the standout T20 team in the world and expects the cricket powerhouse nation to meet defensive champions Australia in the final of next month’s tournament Down Under. Australia revealed their 15-man squad for the tournament on Thursday, which comprises uncapped 26-year-old, Tim David.

Ponting trusts David can have the same devastating influence as Andrew Symonds did in 2003. When the batting all-rounder had his coming-of-age instant and never looked back. The former Australian captain also admitted that if skipper Aaron Finch continued to fail, the pressure is just going to base. Much has altered since Australia won its maiden T20 World Cup almost 10 months ago.

For starters, Justin Langer has moved on as coach, with Andrew McDonald controlling the experienced squad. And while they were underdogs going into the tournament last year, with the circumstances largely foreign to where Australia generally thrives and a struggling team. That had missed a number of its heavy batters in the lead-in matches, McDonald’s side is very established.

“I think the main motive they were underdogs was it was more about the circumstances than whatever else,”

Ponting expressed to They had a really good squad going into that World Cup. I think we fear the Indians and Pakistanis, and those teams in those circumstances. And Australia were just good enough, and all sort of fell in line for them perfectly on that tour to play countless cricket.

 Ricky Ponting

I think India is the standout T20 squad in the world because of the complexity of talent that they’ve got and how many guys that they can just keep delivering in and out of that side and they save winning.

“They’ll play these circumstances well. We’ve seen in the last twosome of years that they’ve played, even now they’re playing Australian circumstances well, so I’ve got Australia and India in the final.”

The major anxiety heading into the tournament is the lack of form from Finch at the top of the instruction.

Nor is it a new object either.

For 18 months Finch has been stressed, with his form woes first coming to a head during the 2020-21 Big Bash. Where he achieved just 179 runs at 13.76. Since 2021, the 35-year-old has achieved just five half-centuries from his past 26 matches. While in ODIs, Finch has had 4 ducks in his past nine innings. Ponting, who too struggled at the backend of his career for constancy, said Australia would be reluctant to move on from Finch at this late stage but confessed he wanted a score or two of note to firm up his place.

 Ricky Ponting

Australia T20 World Cup

“Well, he had a practical series the one before (this Zimbabwe series), didn’t he?”

Ponting said. And it would have been under more weight at the start than he was at the end. I mean, there’s no doubt he’s had his ups and downs, perhaps more downs the last 12 months than ups. But the balls are in his court.

“I mean, if he lasts to fail, the pressure is just going to last to mount. But if he turns up with a few good presentations from here until then, then I think they’ll stick with him.”

For months Ponting has been impressed by David. Who like Australia T20 World Cup Player David Warner has taken a sole path to the Australian team. After struggling to gain traction in Australia. David has emerged and bloomed in overseas T20 tournaments and been called into the squad on the back of his match-winning appearances.

Ponting, who will work alongside David for the Hobart Hurricanes in this summer’s Big Bash competition, said the Singapore-born Australian could show to be a match-winner if given opportunities.

“It was only a pair of periods ago he was struggling to get a game in the BBL and now he’s one of the more sought-after T20 batsmen in the world,”

Ponting said. I saw them up near in one in the IPL this year, and some of the influence he had on a few of those games (was overwhelming). To know more about New Zealand Vs Australia Tickets click here.

Andrew Symonds actually for the 2003 World Cup

In every competition, he’s played he’s continuing to get better and better. I associate him to a bit like Andrew Symonds actually for the 2003 World Cup. I compute if you get him in and give him a go, he’s one of those guys who could not just win you one or two competitions, he could win you a contest so that I’m sure they’re lucid about him, Ponting added that he was a big fan of Josh Philippe and Josh Inglis.

$1.5m gentleman finally earns call-up, the unsuccessful star dropped as Australia T20 World Cup squad revealed

England Vs Australia: Australia has revealed its 15-player squad for next month’s T20 World Cup campaign, with Hobart Hurricanes batter Tim David earning a long-awaited national call-up. Aaron Finch’s men will look to recall the trophy on home soil this summer after becoming T20 world champions for the first time in the United Arab Emirates last year.

The Aussies have made one change to its successful squad from last year’s tournament, with David replacing Queensland leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson. This is a similar team to that which became the first Australian men’s team to win a T20 World Cup. Who are now very happy about playing the tournament at home, chairman of selectors George Bailey said in a declaration.

$1.5m gentleman finally earns call-up
$1.5m gentleman finally earns call-up

Mitchell Swepson was unsuccessful to miss out based on conditions in the UAE at the last T20 World Cup where we planned for tired. Spinning wickets compared to what we would expect are good batting circumstances along with the larger estates in Australia. Tim (David) lasts to find himself with some quality performances in leagues around the world, making a place in the team.

He is an extremely gifted, natural ball striker. Who will add extra batting complexity to the group? Which has had a lot of success in T20 cricket in recent times. We expect him to play an alike role to that he has been playing in the past few years. As stated by The Age, David will represent Australia as an uncontracted freelancer on match expenditures, affording him greater latitude to play short-format leagues overseas.

Tim David

The T20 globetrotter is on the verge of connecting an illustrious list of cricketers, headlined by David Warner. To make their Australian entrance before playing any first-class cricket. David, who has represented Singapore in 14 T20 internationals. Has been one of the most unhelpful short-format cricketers over the past twosome of years, plying his trade in several domestic competitions including the Big Bash League, Pakistan Super League, and Caribbean Premier League.

The 26-year-old was born in Singapore. But elevated in Western Australia was purchased by the Mumbai Indians for a whopping AU$1.53 million at this year’s IPL auction. Making larger bids than Australian stars Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Marsh. David scored 186 runs for Mumbai this year, averaging 37.20. With the bat at a strike rate of 216.27, nobody scored more IPL runs in 2022 at an improved strike rate.

The powerful right-hander averages a boundary every 4.5 balls. Became just the third cricketer to finish an IPL campaign with more than 100 runs and a strike rate better than 200, joining short-format folklores Brendon McCullum and Andre Russell. David’s aptitude to clear the boundary rope without soaking up deliveries at the crease is priceless. And national selectors would be tempted to slot him into the starting XI at the expenditure of Steve Smith or Marcus Stoinis.

Tim David T20 World Cup Player
Tim David T20 World Cup Player

The prospect of David and Australian stalwart Glenn Maxwell joining militaries in the middle-order is a mouth-watering view for any cricket fan. Speaking to reporters in July, the legendary colors, comparing the uncapped cricketer to a former colleague.

“The way he’s altered his game over the last pair of years is quite remarkable,”

the Hurricanes’ Head of Plan said.

T20 World Cup

It was only a couple of seasons ago. That he was stressed to get a game in the Perth Scorchers line-up. It’s astonishing what happens to players when they come to the Hurricanes, how much they improve. He’s been incredible in almost every competition that he’s played around the world in the last 12-18 months. He’s one player that we’re extremely excited about.

I think there’s a chance for him to hopefully take on a bit more accountability in the batting line-up with the Hurricanes this period as well, because of his consistency. And his match-winning aptitude. We don’t want to waste that we don’t want to have him sitting on his hobbies too long. He’s a very good, very unsafe T20 player that I’m sure the Australian choosers are thinking long and hard about for the T20 World Cup in a couple of months.

If I was a chooser, I would love to have a superstar like that on my team. He’s an out-and-out match-winner. He’s the sort of player that can win you a World Cup. He repeats a bit of Andrew Symonds back in the 2003 World Cup. You know that if you get him in and give him a chance. They’re a chance of winning the competition for you. I know there are some other great world-quality players in the middle order for Australia. But probably none of them claims a resume as good as Tim’s over the last two years.
